Forward thinking survey company first to invest in the latest 3D Laser Scanning technology
11 September 2009
(Milton Keynes, 11 September 2009) - Only launched at the beginning of the month, the Leica ScanStation C10 has already been purchased by Glasgow based Loy Surveys - the first survey company in the UK to invest in the market’s most advanced laser scanner, recognising that it is an essential tool for their future profitability.
Established in 1985 Chartered Land Surveyors Loy Surveys have undertaken over 9000 projects across its 24 year history in the UK and internationally and have a customer base of over 1500 clients.
Jim Loy, Managing Director at Loy Surveys comments: ‘Loy Surveys is convinced that surveying is about to enter a new era with ground breaking laser scanning technology which will be just as significant as computer aided surveying, robotic survey instruments and global positioning equipment.’ Mr Loy continues: “Scanning technology is now fast, accurate with an effective surveying range. These advances together with integral high resolution camera, internal memory, touch screen display, dual axis compensation and full dome field of view will give Loy Surveys an all-in-one scanning solution which is both versatile and productive. By going with Leica Geosystems we have the comfort of being part of an established community of scanning users. More importantly this landmark purchase will immediately place us in a leading position with the very latest scanning technology.”
Tim Badley, HDS Sales Manager, Leica Geosystems, comments: ‘The Leica ScanStation C10 represents a new class in laser scanning technology and is the 4th scanner in our HDS portfolio. This is testament to our continued growth and investment in research and development to bring to market a range of laser scanners that will service the most demanding client requirement.”
The Leica ScanStation C10 is a compact, all-in-one laser scanner that includes a dual-axis compensator, integrated battery, controller, data storage, auto-adjusting high resolution video camera and laser plummet. It also features major productivity advances, including a new Smart X-Mirror™ that lets users conduct full-dome scans in minutes using a spinning mirror.
