Museum? Tourist attraction? High-tech mine? The Berchtesgaden Salt Mine is something of all of them. The show mine attracts around 400'000 visitors per year. Every day, the 28 solution mining boreholes produce about 2'000 cubic metersof brine, which yields over 530 tonnes of high value raw salt. And for surveying specialists, too, the salt mine is a fantastic journey through time.
